We’re so happy to be shortlisted for Best Newcomer finalist at the Trencherman’s Awards.

We’ve been on an epic journey in the last 12 months, and can’t believe how far we’ve come. We’ve established ourselves as a destination for folk seeking a different dining experience in Cornwall, from open-fire cooking and seasonal menus to curated events, all with a bit of golf!

Cooking with fire and the Trevowah Herd

Halwyn has always been about keeping things simple and honest. Our food philosophy is built around fire-led cooking, using the unpredictable,  open flame to bring out the best in our ingredients.

Head Chef Matthew Haggath’s favourite moments in the kitchen are when he’s cooking with the Trevowah herd beef. This is beef from our own family farm, raised right here on the land in Crantock. There’s a real pride in being able to bridge the gap between the pasture and the plate; when that smokey Trevowah beef hits the table, it’s a direct connection to our heritage and the Cornish soil.

“We are truly honoured to be recognised by Trencherman’s so early in our journey. Our focus has always been on creating spaces that feel welcoming, places where people can connect with food and each other. To be acknowledged like this is a testament to our incredible team and the community that has embraced us from day one.”  – Halwyn Founder, Will Eustice.

Celebrating the Journey

The Trencherman’s Guide is the ultimate authority for anyone who loves exploring the South West food scene. They look for more than just a menu; they look for soul and a commitment to local roots and from the day we opened we strived be part of this collection.

We can’t wait for the awards ceremony later in April, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has sat at our tables or played golf on our driving range, we are overwhelmed by your support. We’re in wonderful company on this shortlist, and we’re looking forward to celebrating all the finalists – win or no win!

Come and find out what we’re all about.
