RESTAURANT

At HALWYN, food is generoushonest and cooked the way we like it – over fire and without fuss.

Our restaurant sits under oak beams with views over the valley and the fields that border our family farm. Here, chef Matt Haggath brings out bold, smoky flavous from our Josper charcoal grill, the heart of the kitchen and the starting point for many of the dishes we serve.  And we’re featured in Trencherman’s Guide.

Whether you’re stopping in mid-week for lunch, gathering with friends for dinner, or enjoying a Sunday Roast, the menu is built for sharing, feasting, and celebrating the very best of our farm, our kitchen, and the season. Expect proper portions, smokey flavours and food that stands on its own, without fuss or formality.

Sunday Roast is served 12-5 year round, and it’s proper good – Trevowah Herd sirloin of beef or Sage & thyme pork loin – there’s also a few dishes available from our main menus; pan seared monkfish or butternut squash risotto…

The Wine List

Our wine list is a reflection of front of house manager Finley’s love for wine and the joy it brings him when shared. It’s shaped by the knowledge he gained while studying for his WSET Level 3 qualification, and guided by a curiosity for different styles, regions, and pairings. The result is a list that’s thoughtful yet unpretentious, full of bottles that spark conversation and discovery. And of course, it gives him the perfect excuse to keep “researching” new favourites.

Tee Off Before You dine

Visitors to HALWYN can warm up with a session on our driving range or some light hearted competition on our mini golf course, a thoroughly fun way to work up an appetite while enjoying a pre-dinner drink.

How to Find Us

You’ll find us on Halwyn Road in Crantock, just a short drive from Newquay. There’s plenty of parking on site, along with the driving range and mini-golf if you fancy making more of your visit.

If you’d rather arrive on foot, you can walk over from Newquay — cross the Gannel at Penpol Creek when the tide’s out, or in the summer hop on the passenger ferry from Fern Pit and wander up from there.
