OUR STORY
In 1950, Captain Jack’s eldest son, Ron Eustice, took over the farm with his wife, Hazel. Their dream was to run a dairy farm, but fate had other ideas. After an unusually high number of male calves were born, the couple pivoted to beef, and the Trevowah Farm Herd was established.
Ron and Hazel raised four sons — John, Phil, Chris, and Nigel — each leaving their mark on the land and the local lore. One Crantock resident once said, “If all four boys were farming at the same time, you’d hear them long before you’d see them.” And plenty of spirited “debating” continued long after work, in the village pubs.
Over the decades, the Eustice’s have poured heart, skill, and sheer grit into these rolling Cornish fields. Uncle Phil and his son, Cousin Tim, nurtured the award-winning Trevowah Herd, renowned for its prime beef, while “Cauliflower Chris” tended his namesake crop with the same care, pride, and occasional mishap. Over the years, many a local have put a shift in helping the family cut cauliflowers, harvest spuds, or herd cattle along the Cornish lanes.
Halwyn is the next iteration of this industrious tale and was the creation of Will Eustice, a fourth-generation custodian of Trevowah Farm, who wanted to create a beautiful community space in the village he calls home. Halwyn is a place where people come together to eat, drink, celebrate, and enjoy the surroundings. The golf? That’s simply the excuse to get everyone here — the real game is connection.
